The BEST 60
The Association for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries (DENSAN) partecipate at the Milano Design Week to showcase to the people around the world the beauty of craft products that represent Japan “the land of monozukuri (craftsmanships)” in a multi-purpose space owned by Milan Chamber of Commerce, the Palazzo Giureconsulti, in the center of Milan, one of the city’s major commercial areas.
This exhibition showcase 60 products which two curators have selected among the traditional craft items made around the country, from the 222 different kinds of traditional craft products that are still actively made across Japan; from tableware and fashion items, the 60 products selected have been used regularly in everyday lives of Japanese people.
In a restricted exhibition space such as the Camera dei Notari, we wanted to give identity to each product through different surfaces at variable heights where each object becomes the protagonist of the scene.
